GAGOSIAN

The other day I went to the Gagosian Gallery on Britannia Street in Kings Cross. We saw the James Turrell show most of which was based on different uses of light within the space. There was this amazing White curved room which you could step into which reminded me of stepping into a tv set. I felt as I were in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. http://www.gagosian.com/

LONDON VINTAGE WEDDING FAIR

   

 

Today Claudia and I enjoyed a glass of prosecco or two as we wandered around the vintage wedding fair on Westbourne Grove. We had been invited along by Jane Bourvis who kindly allowed us to show our flower garlands along side her collection of vintage wedding gowns. The place was packed but with the use of arms as a display rack we managed to weave through the stalls and show our merchandise whilst browsing the incredible range of stalls.

One woman we particularly liked made the most beautiful and delicate cakes, some with hand crafted chocolate roses. http://www.delovelycakes.com/ As well food delights there were many vintage pieces that you didn't need to be getting married to lust after.  Claudia fell in love with a pale pink beaded dress as well as a translucent black cover up and I was taken with a with an impractical white fur coat. All the wedding dresses were far better than most modern ones and many were going for as little as £100. Overall the people at the show were lovely and we managed to meet a great deal of wedding enthusiasts as well as a collection of brides to be.

I LOVE COCO

Urban legend or not, I think it amazing that the Chanel logo resides upon every lamp-post in central London. I noticed the inter linked Cs a couple of years ago but just dismissed them as a coincidence.  Recently, however, I discovered that the reason why this fashion logo resides on all Westminster public lighting is because the 2nd Duke of Westminster was so in love with Coco Chanel that he adorned his borough with her initials in a bid to woo her. Unfortunately my initials only reside on football kits. FC

A delightful weekend in Devon. We were watching The Edge of Love last week whilst making garlands for an upcoming wedding show which inspired us to brave the waves in 1940s style. CW and FC
