I have always been a big jelly fan. They remind me of trips to the seaside and getting to wear my first pair of heeled shoes. They were transparent lemon yellow glitter jellies. These will be my grown up version for the summer. Available here.

CHEAP DRESS
I wore my Cheap Monday dress for the first time this weekend. Not really sure how practical a plunging V is. Maybe good for when I get invited to the Oscars...

PICASSO IN BRITAIN
I am ashamed to say how long it had been since I last visited the Tate Britain. So far to say, that is has had a major shakeup in recent times. They have now prioritized a large section of the gallery to more modern British Art and have updated the stairway with this coloured square mural. Large parts of the gallery now resemble the Tate Modern although the style of the hang is still more traditional. The room pictured above with the chandelier and the mirror are both by Cerith Wyn Evans whose work I was very happy to see in the flesh. After wondering through the permanent collection I went round the Picasso exhibition, which had been my primary reason for the visit. I found the show quite disappointing as I had been really excited to see it, after reading about the Picassomania which had hit the UK in 1960s when the Tate exhibited his work. I even dressed up in a sixties style to honour the original exhibition. Below you can see my attempt to recreate ladies visiting the first Tate Picasso show. The show seemed disjointed and the link between Picasso's painting and the British artist's work tenuous at times or overtly obvious.
MARCH TOP 3: THAILAND SPECIAL
1: Red High-Waisted Topshop Bikini - Couldn't resist the baywatch colour and it is nice and sturdy for all the scuba diving!
2: Asos Flatform Sneakers - A good holiday staple, especially as my flip flops fell apart. These have got me to waterfalls and back through jungle paths so they are much appreciated.
3: Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses

NEW BALANCE HAPPINESS
I have been looking at these trainers on the internet for about 4 months now. Those with incredible memories may remember them from my fantasy Christmas list post. Now I actually own them I think I may wear them everyday. This is the first time I have bought trainers not for sport, apart from converse, since I was a teenager. I forgot how comfortable they are!

ART IN EMPTY SPACES
I was invited along by my friends to view an exhibition which was part of the Art In Empty Spaces project. The show was housed in a derelict shop in the Regents Estate, just off London fields, and exhibited photographs taken by a group of the estate's residence. As part of the project the group had been given disposal cameras to document their lives over a day. After they were then given the opportunity to curate their work in the gallery space. The photos were really impressive and I especially liked the one taken in an office license which featured a wall of wine. I thought it was a great premise for an exhibition and enjoyed the art and company.

GINGHAM PROJECT
I tried to get creative on Sunday and ended up with a trail of failed projects. I decided sitting in the sun while making a pattern for a peter pan collar. Luckily I got this right first time and attempted to cut out the collar shape from old gingham with blunt scissors. I dug out my sewing machine and hemmed the edges with a lazy zig-zag stitch in order to join the two sides together. I then got to making a t-shirt with a gingham pocket to match. I think in this outfit I look like Minnie Mouse. My sunglasses are ears!
